This marvellous vintage art deco drinks cabinet was manufactured in England in the 1930's. In quality walnut veneer, it is semi-circular in shape with roller-shutter doors and original brass handles. The interior is lit by a fluorescent light, revealing a mirror-backed compartment for glassware with rather fetching art deco stripes under the glass and a design of cocktails and palms at the back. In the centre is a slide-out glass cocktail shelf again featuring the striped design. The lower compartment has recesses for bottles and the shelf-edge has a brass rail. This is a splendid example in superb condition.
A fine Bauhaus era, bent metal chair. It is unusual to find such perfectly proportioned children's furniture. The chair's design perfectly translates the use of material, proportions from adult furniture design to the demensions for a child. The chair's total height is 25.5 inches, seat height of 12.25 inches and total width of 12.5 inches. There is some wear to its original paint, otherwise, it is in good conditon.
Handcast from a Chicago original in our own collection. One of the original masques of the famous, but now demolished, Broadway Strand Theater on West Roosevelt Road in Chicago. Has acquired the beginnings of a lovely green, mossy finish in our display gardens.
